Brown's Milk Frosted Grain Flakes are made of high quality, steam-rolled mixed grains. They are coated with molasses, vitamins and minerals, milk powder, and other ingredients to aid the rumin in beginning to function. The rumin of a calf does not develop until 21 days after starting to eat dry ration. Brown's Milk Frosted Grain Flakes help the calves begin eating pellets, since they have a similar taste and smell as the milk they are used to. Starting from the first day, rations given should be in small quantities to retain freshness. When the rate of dry ration consumption reaches 3 pounds daily, a calf can be weaned. It is easier on the calf to remove one feeding for a few days, and then after 3-4 days, stop the milk. Clean water should always be available. 

They do not contain copper, which makes them appropriate for lambs, as well as calves and foals.
